Masculine cards

Hello Scrappy friends, welcome back.
Just a quick post today sharing two Birthday Cards.
I've been playing with my new favourite product; Tim Holtz Oxide distress inks.
The stamp is by Viva Las Vegas and I used
Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint and Walnut stain inks.
The background mat paper is from Kaisercraft "Factory 42."
The ink colours are, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo.
The background mat paper is also from Kaisercraft "Factory 42."

I love the way these inks blend so well, they give a creamy, intense, matte finish
and respond to water beautifully.

Thanks for calling in, I hope you come again.

Stuck?! Sketches! DT 15th August - Dreamy Diva

Welome back to my blog today where I'm sharing a DT page for
I splurged on some new papers for this inspirational sketch.
They are from Scrapberry - The "Elegantly Simple" collection.

The gorgeous flower and butterfly chipboards are from Scrapmatts,
one of our generous Sponsors this month.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-
You were only a little girl when you came for your first sleepover with Granny and Pa.
You coped really with without Mummy and Daddy as long as we kept you busy and had plenty of outside time.  We have lots of bees in our garden and keeping your shoes on your feet proved to be a bit of a problem, but other than that, everything went well.  Can you spot the difference in the photos?  The first one was taken when you needed a sleep and the second one after you hopped up, full of the joys of life and ready to strike a pose!
It was just a joy to have you stay overnight.   Love Granny.

Scrapmatts August creating with Helen.

Today I'm sharing three projects for the SCRAPMATTS design team.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Sofia & Andrew, the owners of Scrapmatts,
at the Craft fair in Adelaide.
It was fun to get to know these generous people and
be part of the hustle and bustle of a busy stall.

First up is a layout about one of my Grand daughters.
The paper collection is from Cocoa Vanilla, "Wild at Heart".  A bit like my girl!
I enjoyed using one of the newer stencils, ST9012 - A5  patterns,  to create interest down the right side of the page, before splashing on some Tim Holtz Oxides distress ink.
This cluster at the bottom consists of:-
Flowers - CB1161 Flowers 11
Leaves CB4070 from the string Circles 06 Roses, treated with gesso,
before adding water colour paint and some tiny beads to the centre of the flowers.
CB1038 Dragonflies 06 was heat embossed with gold.
The sweet title is from CB6117 Assorted words 30, just a touch of white paint to make it pop against the navy floral paper.
The pink and white twine and the locket are also available from Scrapmatts.

Can you see the little birds at top left?  I pushed several thick layers of texture paste through
ST9020 - A6 Bird Stencil.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

These photos were taken during the school holidays when you and your three cousins spent the day with us.  You adore getting together with the boys, playing outside, going to the playground, baking, crafting and telling corny jokes.
You had already hopped into the bath, when the I started a photo session with the boys and you were a bit miffed when you thought you were going to miss out, as you love to have your photo taken. You dashed inside, pulled on a Tshirt  with your pyjama bottoms and hopped up on the stool as soon as there was a vacancy!  You borrowed one of my hair clips to get your hair out of your eyes and said. "I'm ready Granny"
I love the two different expressions; from demure to cheeky in a split second.
Love Granny - 27th April 2017

Next is a vintage style card for a friend's Birthday.
The vintage image called for some vintage embellishments and I created the peach background with a stencil similar to This one ST9025 - A6
The leaves looked lovely with the At Deco theme, I used Distress Oxides and Wink of Stella to dress them. CB1235 Leaf Spray 14
I scattered a few Prills at her feet and the
trim across the bottom was treated with crackle medium and gold paint.
The tiny butterfly is from CB1028 Butterflies 18

Finally a Father's Day card for a special event coming up soon.
The background was created with texture paste through another new stencil,
ST9024-A5 - Bricks
Then I added Tim Holtz Oxides Distress inks, to create a patina on the bricks.
The gears were already painted black, as were the words.

Stuck?! Sketches! DT 1st August - Boy oh Boy

Welome back to my blog today where I'm sharing a DT page for
One of my favourite paper collections is Cocoa Vanilla - "You Rock"
Just the thing for these two Scallywags!
The hessian heart is from Charms Creations.
The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

These pictures were taken at your big cousin's 18th Birthday Party.
We had lunch outside in the sunshine and you both relished the party food.
Although you have quite different personalities,
you both enjoy playing football and patting the pets.
We stayed late into the evening and enjoyed listening to your cousin and Uncle playing their guitars, while all the rest of us sang along.
A little snippet of everyday life recorded when you were 6 years old.
